Valentines Day 2018

Let's talk about Valentine's, you know before its March in two more days ;)

I love Valentines...all the hearts and pink..and a day to show my love bunnies how special they are.  Yep. love it!

One thing, that has been a major adjustment over not having Brynn here on all these fun holidays to celebrate the way we used to.  I hate having to send her off to school instead of playing and doing all the festive crafts and breakfasts.  And then, having to wait until the afternoon to do the things we love.

Let me just reel it back in before I go off on a tangent about how much I don't like sending my big girl away every day.

Valentines day...

One thing that I can say was exciting about school this year was being able to make our first official Valentine's.  I went a little over board, but really I don't know any other way.  It was really sweet to watch her take her time and be so excited filling out all her little friends names on each card.  As well, as watching her read all of the ones she received and saying "awww how sweet!" for each one.

The girls woke up and we did a simple breakfast of pink heart donuts that daddy picked us up from Dunkin Donuts.  I dressed the girls up in their finest Valentines apparel and we got ready for the day.  Brynn was having her first Valentines card exchange and party at school so that was pretty exciting.  She looked so precious ready for her school day.

all ready with her teacher gifts

Steve headed off to work, and Grammie came to babysit while I went to Brynn's school to throw her class party.  I did a cookies and milk party, the kids decorated their cookies and then did a little craft.

Afterwards, we headed home where I set up a "GAL-en-tines party" for my lovely ladies, complete with a few treats like candy, unicorn headbands, heart bath bombs and some new pink rain boots.  They had a blast and loved all their sweet treats.

Their reaction was priceless which makes it all worthwhile <3

Bring on spring

Come fall every year I start to get so envious of the cooler and crisper temps that other places are experiencing.  And then, come Christmas time I get envious of peoples snow.  Basically, anyone who has seasons!  But come February in Florida its PERFECT! And while its cold and snowy everywhere else its 80 degrees here with no humidity.  Its the best! Warm enough for the beach, and cool enough to play outside all day while being warm but not sweating and its just glorious.

The beginning of the month it was so warm but our pool was still a little chilly so, we filled these tubs up with water and added some bubbles and the girls had a blast!  After this they asked for it every single day for the next week!  But hey, no bath needed afterwards! win win!

We also had our first perfect beach day!  The girls had so much fun, and for the first time in my life I was able to sit in my beach chair.  I think we are entering a new phase here in life and its kind of glorious.  The girls played together digging and making castles and in the water together the entire time!

And lets not forget about all the sundresses!  Because, as always dressing up these sweet babies is my absolute favorite.  And give me all the eyelet, and lace and bubbles and seersucker!

We finally opened the pool about two weeks ago, and while its way to chilly for this mama, these two little girls aren't phased one bit.

And now every afternoon around four we stay outside swinging and playing until about 6:30 before dinner and bath and its just the best.

So, if you need us, thats where we will be...outside soaking up the few great months before summer hits us in two months and we are sweating just walking to the mailbox or dripping in the five minutes it takes me to buckle the kids in the car ;)

Life Lately

So glad that January is behind us.  It was definitely one for the books.  It all started with Brynn coming home sick from school the very first day back from winter break.  The doctor diagnosed her with pneumonia and we went home with a bunch of medications.  Two days later Steve tested positive for the flu.  So, I then spent the next two days keeping him quarantined from the girls.  Taking care of him and then Brynn and juggling Jolie. Fast forward to the following day, Jolie wakes up at 2 am crying with 104 fever, rush her to the ER and she is diagnosed with the flu.  The doctor there told me he thinks Brynn had the flu all along and that's how Steve initially caught it, it just had turned into pneumonia.  All of this to say it was one looooong, hellish, never ending week that left me super traumatized.

Like so much that I cringe sending Brynn to school every day now.  And you know, the news certainly isn't helping my anxiety with this situation.  This is when I'm like, yep...if we lived on a farm we wouldn't have to worry about this craziness.  Just another check in the pro category for the secluded life. Sign me up.

Anyhow, we are all well now.  Thank God!  We have been spending a lot of time being homebodies, because again, germs.  But honestly, we kind of enjoy being homebodies.  I love watching the girls grow to be more and more inseparable. Jolie cries every time Brynn leaves each morning and then is her shadow until she goes to bed.  It really is the cutest.

We are looking forward to the warmer sunnier spring weather! So ready for beach and pool days to be back!
