B turns FOUR

I seriously just typed three in the title of this post and had to erase it and change it to four.  FOUR! Seriously how can that be?  Four has been a tad hard for me.. three still seemed like a toddler and well four, four is entering into this new territory of big girl-hood.  I swear her third birthday was JUST yesterday.  I still remember her princess nightgown she wore with her big pink bow with and her little scrunched face blowing out her donut breakfast candles.  Ya'll seriously... that was just yesterday, I swear it!

But...as much as I would looove to keep her tiny forever.  I am loving her more everyday.  There have been many, many times that I have wanted to freeze time.  Heck, I was ready to freeze time when she was just a week old.  But, if I did that I would miss out on all the wonderfulness that keeps coming with watching her grow.  My mom has always told me there is joy in each age and you need to not want to freeze time, nor speed it up.  Enjoy each stage.  And right now I am enjoying this age.  I mean I could lose the sass ;) (surely that ends soon right?!?!) but she sure is sweet! The night before her birthday I was being dramatic about her turning four and she looked at me and said "It's okay mama, I'm still gonna have the same face!" Cracked me up as I said "Oh you are?!?!, Well thank God!"

We don't do huge parties every single year, I save those for the "big" birthdays. 1, 5, 10..you get the drift.  And on the in between birthdays we do family birthdays...you know old school style.  You choose the theme and whatever you want to do special that day. (And when school age this definitely means skipping school on your special day!)  You choose anything you want for dinner.  And you blow out your candles and open presents with your family.  And while I liiiive for throwing a good party, theseeee are the best kind! For this years theme she chose Snow White.

Brynn chose to go to the zoo, where we saw all the animals and fed the giraffes.  She was so excited for this.

We ate pizza.  It's what she requested, it just so happened to make things extra easy on me ;) And whoooo doesn't love pizza! win, win!

And had cake! an extra big yellow Snow White cake fit for a princess.

We ended the night with the girls playing and squealing inside this barbie dream house box, with everyone laughing...because in the end...isn't it always the box that brings the most fun?!?!
Happy birthday to one who made me a mama!

Past birthdays:

second birthday (oh-two-dooles)
third birthday (pink &unicorns)

Fun in the sun

The weather lately has been awesome!  Warm enough for all things water, yet not so hot that I'm sweating!

The Easter bunny brought this awesome little splash pad, so we broke that in this week.  The girls loved it and entertained them several afternoons this week.  I especially love that I don't have to fill it up and then empty it every single time.

We spent all day Friday at my moms park and pool  We have our own pool in our backyard but, hers is huge and has a park connected to it.  So, it was fun to switch it up.  I packed us a picnic lunch and the girls ate between fun.  I think this is definitely something I am going to add to our weekly rotation.  My mom met us up there and the girls just loved that.  It was a total win when Brynn ASKED to go to bed at 7:00!

Looking forward to more swimming, splash pads and beach days with these little sun kissed beauties!

Easter 2017

We spent the past week at the beach and had fun dying our eggs and decorating them on our last night.
Egg dying went something like this.
Brynn super duper into it, taking her time, dying, decorating ever so carefully ..so much attention to detail.
Jolie squealing to hold eggs and then hulk smashing them to the ground!
But, they sure do look cute don't they!

Easter day was filled with tearing into those Easter baskets, going to church and egg hunting!

This years baskets consisted of bubbles, candy, new sippy cups, bathing suits & pool toys.

This picture blew Brynn's mind! She could not believe that I caught the Easter Bunny and proceeded to tell everyone she came in contact with that day how her mommy caught the bunny :)

Of all the things Brynn got, it was the pez that rocked her world, which she then later realized she's not the biggest fan of.

The egg hunt was hilarious.  Brynn was a pro and Jolie reminded me so much of Brynn her first year. Brynn was instructed to find all the eggs that were hidden and leave the ones in the open grass for her sister and she did just that.  Jolie would pick up one egg at time immediately crack it open, eat what inside then repeat.  In the end Brynn found the golden egg and got the money and was so proud of herself!

Love this family of mine and I am so thankful that because of Jesus and his sacrifice I get to have these loves in my life.
