Thanksgiving

We had another wonderful Thanksgiving for the books.
We woke up and continued our tradition of cinnamon turkey rolls, to which Brynn looked only slightly more impressed than last year ;)

We spent the morning on the couch watching the parade and sipping our coffee from our holiday mugs.  Brynn entertained us by copying all the dancing from the tv.   Such a little performer.

I got the girls all dressed up in these adorable matching Gobble outfits that I scooped up months ago when I saw they came in both girls sizes.  I couldn't get enough of how adorable they both looked.  Definitely more pictures of Jolie than Brynn this year...could be because she is a lot more cooperative and all I gotta do it look at this girl and she is all smiles.  Brynn on the other hand is hard to keep up with these days!

We drank wine and cooked the day away, even Brynn got in on the helping.

Dinner was delicious as usual.  Brynn made sure that even the dogs got a little Thanksgiving too.

It was so fun to see how excited she was about the day, telling everyone Happy Thanksgiving and screaming "Your feast is readyyyyyyy!"  She even announced the blessing for everyone all by herself and told us that pilgrims and Indians ate their feast together after they sailed to America on the Mayflower.  (Thanks Charlie Brown Thanksgiving ;) )  She is too much!

So thankful for this wonderful family of mine that God has blessed me with.  And thankful that we got to share it this year with our newest little family member who totally completes us.

Jolie - 3 months

Wee-Month Three!

Time just keeps on keepin' on and our little Jolie is three months old.  Gosh, I don't think I could be more in love with her!  She is the absolute sweetest little soul!  We just had our three month checkup and all is well with Jo.  Thank you Jesus!  She is definitely.. so far a little peanut, only in the 6th percentile...which is looking like she is taking after her tiny mama in that department.

We had a really rough month with tummy troubles, still.  We ruled out the milk allergy since the allergy milk did not help.  They put her on zantac for acid reflux which was their next guess...and that seemed to help for like two, three weeks.  Then...the crying came back.  The full on screaming for hours on hours on hours. Every. Single. Day.  I could not console her or put her down and I felt just awful for her and her pain...and at the same time found myself losing it in a major way.  After researching and researching helplessly I read about baby probiotics and how they help with colic, gas and constipation.  We went out and bought them the next day and my God she is a completely different baby!  No crying at all in a week!  Smiling and laughing all day long.  It's amazing!  As sad as I am that it took this long to get her to be a happy baby, I am just happy that all is well now.

Baby Stats:
weight:
Birth 7lbs 5 oz
3 months: 13 lbs

height:
birth: 18inches
3 months: 22 inches

Eyes:
Still a light blue/grey

Hair: light brown, new hair growth looks even lighter like a sandy blondish.

Eating:
After switching off the milk protein allergy formula we are now on Honest Company's organic formula and eating 5 oz every 3 to 4 hours.

Sleep: Now that tummy troubles are gone...napping has started and its glorious.  Jolie takes about three naps a day and passes out for the night around 8-9.  She is sleeping 7 hour stretches and a few 8 hour ones...usually waking between 4 and 5 and then going back down until between 6:30 and 7.
I started putting Brynn in her crib at 3 months but for some reason I still am just not quite ready for her to leave my room just yet.

Firsts: Meeting your great-grandparents, Honey and Pops.
First walks in the stroller with sissy.

Milestones: Cooing.  Making the sweetest little sounds all day long.
Just started reaching out to bat toys hanging from your play mat.
Giggles! Oh the giggles.  Your giggles are like this little raspy cough and I could just eat them up.

Favorites:  Bath time, lotion massages.

Hates: Carseat...still.  Being left alone with no one in sight for too long.

Dearest Jolie,

I cannot believe you are three months.  Gone is your teeny tiny little newborn self, you are looking more like a baby with each passing day.  Those little cheeks and thighs are filling out...and that double chin when you smile so hard...ugh. I just love everything about you.  You are perfectly perfect!

You are so much more alert these days.  You are constantly looking for someone and wanting any and all attention.  You, little miss..are most certainly a ham.  Smiling is your favorite.  You do it all day long...all anyone has to do is just look at you and oh. the. smiles!  You smile with your whole entire face and gosh, its my favorite.  Such a little dream boat you are.

You love to be held, cuddled and rocked.  Some of my most favorite times are with you in the rocking chair and your sister sitting in your crib, her and I singing disney princess songs to you while you drift off to sleep.  Its in those times that I sit back and think wow, this is some life I have.

We love you to the moon & back our little Jo Jo Bean.

Weekend recap

Friday
Was a pretty uneventful day.

We watched my moms dog all week while she was out of town and Brynn had a great time with him swimming, giving him checkups, having tea parties and naps among many other shenanigans together.

Saturday
We woke up and dropped Jolie off at my moms so that we could take Brynn to the Home Depot little builders.  We have been doing this since August and she seems to really enjoy it.  It is outdoors so we leave Jolie at home since it is STILL 90 degrees! ugh.  This weekend they made a jet for Veterans day.

That night was all about the Bama LSU game and we were pumped!  We decided to make it a cheat night...both kids in bed...pizza, wings, beer and football.  I guess you could say it was our date night cause thats about as eventful as it gets these days ;)

It was a big WIN for Bama!  LS-Whoooo?  Roll Tide!

Sunday
Jolie slept from 8:30 to 6 for the second time this week which had me singing all kinds of praises this morning.  Im really hoping this becomes more frequent.  But probably not now that I typed it out.  We spent the morning still celebrating.

And lots of Sunday cleaning.

We watched the Dolphins game during nap time while some beef stew cooked in the crockpot and filled the house with all kinds of fall cozy smells.  Now if only the weather would cooperate!

Brynn 2 1/2 year update

It's been quite awhile since I did a Brynn update and I need to get it all down for memories sake.  These days seem to all roll into one big blur lately and I don't want to ever forget this age.  Brynn suddenly seems one million times bigger and older to me these days.  Having a newborn has suddenly made me realize that she is not so baby, and well that makes me want to go hide in the closet and cry.  I know I say this all the time, but really, where DOES the time go!  Two and half! How can it be?

That being said, this age is the best! I would love to just freeze time and keep her this age forever.  At two and half Brynn is just the sweetest, funniest thing.  She is so caring, thoughtful, helpful and equal parts sass.  She is so interested in anything and everything around her, always wanting to watch what you are doing...and then of course help.  She is so,so helpful, always following me around like my little sidekick, right there to sweep beside me, put the clothes into the dryer, pull up a chair and help  me cook dinner.  Always saying "I'lllllll help you, I got it!"

Her vocabulary continues to amaze me daily.  It seems like every day she is coming up to me with something new that literally has me in shock.  I think I am loving this age the most so far because it just so awesome to watch this little person suddenly be able to communicate with you in full sentences, carry on a conversation and share thoughts.  Just the best.

Stats: 3 feet 1 inches
Weight: 34 lbs

Some of my current favorites conversations:

"You wanna sit with me mama, wanna cuddle?"
Asking her if she can help me, or get something/do something "Yep, I suuuuuure can!"
Wanting something I have, a sip of my drink etc "Mom, you shaaare, okaaaay, share."
Me using the bathroom, Brynn grabs my face "I'm soooo proud of you, that's such a good girl!"
Brushing my hair for me "I'll do your hairstyles, make you look so beautiful, like Rapunzel."
Giving her a braid in her hair the other day, she runs to look in the mirror, runs her hand down the braid and says "Wow, this is a dream come true!"

Eating:
Hit or miss with this girl, what she likes one day will be yucky the next.  Some current things that seem to be on "good list" are strawberries, black berries, plums.  Cheese sticks, apple juice, orange juice.  Has been on a major sandwich kick lately, always asking for a peanut buttersss sandwich and then just ultimately takes it apart and disects it and ooo's and ahhhh's saying "wowww its a triangle, that's amazing!"  Dinner, we are still kind of on a meat strike, she pretty much just eats the sides or toppings for things.

Sleep: We transitioned to the big girl bed right after her second birthday (more on that later) pretty seamlessly.  Bedtime is now 7:45 and sleeps to basically 7.  Still napping every afternoon for about 2-3 hours.

Favorite things:
Like most toddler girls princesses are everything right now.  I always try to figure out who her favorite is but it seems like it changes week to week.  We were on a Belle kick, but for the last two weeks we have been having to watch Cinderella several times a day.  She also loves to pretend she is princess Aurora.  She lays on the couch and pretends she is sleeping, we have to kiss her to wake her up, and then sing once upon a dream while she twirls around the house.  Her all time favorite thing to do is put on a dress and pretend she is going to the ball and then bow to me or her dad and say "May I have this dance!"  She loves to be outside and will ask all day.  She just learned how to ride her scooter and pedal her bike all by herself.   Looking for lizards, dragonflies and butterflies are her favorite.  She can swim in our pool for hours and never get tired of it.  She just learned how to go under and hold her breath and swim from the stairs to one of us and back, and she will do this over and over regardless of how blood shot her little eyes are getting.

Becoming a sister:
I know I have mentioned it a lot lately but she is just the best sister.  Jolie is the world to her, and she is so incredibly proud of her.  She tells anyone and everyone who will listen about her little Jo Bean.  It will never get old seeing her pet her, kiss her, hold her and talk to her in her little baby voice calling her a "preshhhus guuuwwl, pretty guuuwl"  Or screaming "She looookin at me, sissy lookin at me!"

At the end of the day I could write pages and pages about just how much I love this girl.  There just aren't enough words in the world to describe my love.  The days are long, and we definitely have our share of "two-nager" moments, but it's never anything a few hugs, smooches and couch cuddles can't cure.  Yep, 2 1/2 has been pretty sweet.

Halloween 2015

Halloween Eve

Halloween eve was spent carving pumpkins.  Like pretty much everything else Brynn obviously doesn't remember doing this last year...but this year was pretty excited about it.  We opted for a simple classic jack-o-lantern face.  Brynn enjoyed trying to help Steve cut the face out and even doing her share of scooping out the insides.  Girl is never afraid of getting a little messy. Little Jo Bean sat pumpkin-side and watched all the festivities.  Uncle Troy came over and we ordered pizza and hung out afterwards.

Halloween

We woke up and made a spooky breakfast of fruit kabobs and mummy sausages.

We spent the day laying around, getting dinner ready and watching Hocus Pocus.  Around 4:30 my parents, grandparents, brother and his girlfriend all came over for some chili, cornbread and drinks.  They enjoyed seeing the girls get ready in their costumes and watched them trick or treat.

Our costumes this year would not have been MY first pick, but I guess it can't always be my way ;)  Steve has been begging to be a pirate for years so I figured it was time to give in.  So that, paired with Brynn's recent pirate and tinker bell fascination we went with the Peter Pan theme.  Steve was Captain Hook, I was Peter Pan, Brynn was Tinkerbell and Jolie was little Tigerlily.

Brynn loved getting dressed up and the part that rocked her sweet world the most was getting to wear eye shadow and blush :)  We practiced all our trick or treat manners all month and she did great at remembering exactly what to do.  She was a pro!

I can't believe it came and went so quickly.  Today is Monday....and we need all the coffee! And turkey pajamas...cause it's November!

And the most wonderful time of year is upon us and that just makes me giddy inside!
