Memorial Day Weekend

We have been super busy over here with a house full of company. Steve's family has been here for almost two weeks so we have been playing host and hostess, showing them around town.

Yesterday we took a bit of a break and relaxed at home.  We had a few friends over for swimming and some cooking out.  It was a nice day, and fun to catch up with some friends we haven't seen in awhile.

It rained on and off but eventually stopped, and thankfully didn't put a damper on our day.

I even found the time to sneak in a little bumpdate picture of this seven month belly bump.  We have officially hit the third trimester.  Time is flying and there is still SO much to do, but I am trying to soak up the rest of the summer as a family of three and make it super special for Brynn.

Mother's Day 2015

This year Mother's day was perfect.  We started the weekend by going out to dinner just Steve and I.  We rarely go out to eat, with or without kiddos.  We just don't.  So, it was nice to have a date night, some alone time to  relax and reconnect.

On Sunday, I woke up to my sweet girl walking into my room giving me a hug and saying " happy moders daaay!"  I hope I never forget the sound of this little voice and the way she mispronounces all these little words.

Steve and her left me to peace and quiet while they went and picked up some goodies.  They returned with some ice coffee, donuts and a dozen roses.  Brynn was so proud of them and could not wait to hand them to me :)

For lunch we met up with my mom, brother and his girlfriend at this old school ice cream place that is so fun.  We chowed down on some hot dogs and some yummy ice cream.
Brynn could not even bother to take a taste of anything because all her little heart cared about was that carousel that we passed walking in.  Needless to say, the lunch ended with about five rides.

We got home, put the babe down for nap and floated around pool and relaxed for a few hours.  The day ended with everyone fending for themselves with sandwiches and a lot of couch snuggles.  Any day where I can go the whole day without having to cook a single meal is a great day in my book!

I can't believe this is my last Mother's Day as a mom of one.  Next year I will be celebrating this special day with two special girls.  I just can't wait!  Being a mom has been the biggest blessing and I can't imagine double the love!

A Birthday Disney Vacation

I will be honest and say Steve and I had no intentions of taking Brynn to Disney until she was around four-ish.  It's expensive, they don't remember, they whine etc...all reasons for us wanting to wait.   To each their own, it just wasn't for us.  Fast forward two years, our little princess is princess OBSESSED!  On any given day one of the princess movies is being requested on the DVR.  Also on the list of obessions was Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, hence the birthday party theme.  So, around January we decided that though she will probably not remember it, it would be fun to go for her birthday as kind of a last hoo-rah as a family of three.

We decided if and when we did do Disney we would do it big.  We made reservations to stay at the animal kingdom lodge.  I cannot say enough about this hotel, it was amazing.  Seriously, I think the hotel is what made this trip so awesome.  We got a room with a balcony overlooking the Savanna and being able to step outside and see animals roaming around at any time rocked Brynn's world.  Some of my most treasured moments from the trip are the things Brynn was saying to these animals.  I seriously have watched the videos on my phone countless times just to hear that sweet baby voice say "Comeee animooools! Come see me!  It's me Brynn! I hold you!"  "Giraffe looooookin at me!" To die for!!!

My mom came with us, she just could not stand to miss out on Brynn's face and reaction to meeting all the princesses and we were more than happy to have her come with us.  The more the merrier!  Brynn absolutely LOVED having her there with us and left even more attached than she already was.

The first day we decided to just stay at the resort and look around, hang by the pool and eat lunch etc.
Brynn was miss social butterfly.  I could not keep her away from all the kids in the pool.  She was just swimming up to each kid and having random conversations with them.  She joined in on all the pool dance parties and hoola hoop contests.  Girl could not for the life of her figure out why hers was "no working mama!??"  We left the pool with a plum tuckered out little Minnie Mouse!

The next day we work up to pouring rain, but it was time for Magic Kingdom and we were not going to let the rain put a damper on our day.  Upon first walking in the park we immediately ran into Snow White.  I cannot even put into words the expression on Brynn's face seeing her in real life.  The line was super short so we headed over.  Brynn on repeat was saying "me, Brynn, my turn next!"  When she walked up to her and Snow White bent down to talk to her, it was like her whole life was made right then in that moment.  There are no words.  Her expression in this pictures melts me a thousand times over.

Afterwards we went to meet Cinderella and Rapunzel.  Again, magical.  Cinderella commented on Brynns sparkly jelly shoes which she always fondly calls her "rella" shoes....made her little heart so happy.

I die at this picture of her and Rapunzel!  Just totally captivated by that magical hair :)

After all that princess meeting the clouds opened up and the sun came out and it turned into a beautiful day.

We spent the rest of the day riding rides.  Brynn didn't seem to be scared by anything and was just so busy trying to take it all in.

Finally, we met the last princess of the day Belle.  It was a cute little thing where the kids acted out the movie for Belle.  Steve ended up being a knight and Brynn was Chip.  As soon as Belle walked in that room she could not wait to give her "chip".

We left around five, all exhausted and this pregnant mama felt like she ran a marathon.  It was such a perfect perfect day.

The next morning, we woke up and went to a character breakfast at the Beach Club Resort.  As soon as Brynn saw Goofy she could not concentrate on eating a thing.  All she wanted was Goofy to come see her, and when he did....sister freaked out! It was then that we realized she loved them but only to wave to her....not to touch her or get real close haha.

This little girl of ours was definitely spoiled this year!  It's her last year as an only child and we wanted to make it super special for her.  Gosh, I love her so!  I can't even put into words how magical this time was together.  My heart was so full of love and happiness.

Oh TWO-dooles! Brynn's Mickey Clubhouse Birthday

We have spent the past week recovering our birthday/Disney high.  It was such a fun birthday celebrated for a whole week long.

We decided that we would do a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse/Disney theme party for Brynn's second birthday.  I'm not necessarily a character birthday person (I know eventually I will have to give into this) but we decided that we were going to take Brynn to Disney for her Birthday and so the theme kinda just fit to mesh it all together.

We went BIG on her first birthday...took me three months to just buy everything and make all the little crafts and finishing touches and I knew this year that was not going to be the case.  Disney was her present, so we decided to have a very low key family simple party on her actual birthday.

We only invited my parents, my brother and his girlfriend (who brought her cousin) and Gena who is basically Brynn's other aunt.  We grilled hot dogs for a little "hot diggity bar" and ordered a Publix Minnie Mouse cake.  We all swam in the pool in the backyard and chowed down.  It was such a simple, RELAXING, happy happy day.  Brynn was on cloud nine!  She yelled to each person who came through the door "haaaaapppyyyy birthday!"

She totally made out in the gift department this year.  My parents bought her big girl bed (more on that later) and a Cinderella and Ariel doll.  She got some jewelry and a scooter from Uncle Troy and Aunt Nene and a bucket load of clothes, shoes, bathing suits and sunglasses from Aunt Gena.

After being totally into every other family members birthday party this year, she seemed so excited to finally have the happy birthday song sung to her and blow out her own candles.

It was such a fun and happy day with our little TWO year old.  And at the end of her fun day she was just plum tuckered out.  Afterall, it is hard work being two ;)
