Valentines and a very special announcement!

Ok time to catch up on Valentine's Day now :)

I always love Valentine's.  Something about a little day to be mushy over my people is just so fantastic.  Any excuse for some festive outfits is also always a highlight.

Brynn has been on a serious hide and seek kick for some time now.  We are constantly playing where mommy and Brynn hide and daddy has to come get us.  A favorite on repeat 21654631 times a day.  So, it has been on our minds that she would probably really love to have a little play teepee to go inside....a special hiding place, if you will...

With Valentine's coming up we figured we could throw some heart fabric on that baby and surprise her Valentine's morning.  We worked on it at night after she went to bed for about a week and were so excited for the big reveal.  I filled it with some cozy blankets, princess chocolates and a stuffed animal lion (also a new obsession) and waited for a special little person to eat her heart out.

Of course it was just as darn exciting as I'd imagined and she was just oh so excited about it.  Needless to say, we played daddy get us about 316546 times that day.

We also used Valentines as the time to announce that we are expanding our little family by one more!  We did a little baking photoshoot for Brynn to announce that come August she will be a big sister.  We honestly could not be more excited!   I know that Brynn will be an amazing sister and I cannot wait for what's to come for this little family of ours :)

This Valentines was extra sweet indeed!  And my heart could just explode with happiness!

A Very Merry Christmas

Oh hey there bloggy of mine.  Remember that time I blogged about Christmas in March???? Yeaaaa.  my Mac took a crash on me right after Christmas and I've yet to get it fixed, which has put my little bloggy blog on the back burner.  But since so much time, precious time is passing us by I can't let these special little family times go undocumented.  So, here I sit on my husbands computer trying to play catch up.

Soooo, here we go....

I was sad to see Christmas go this year, as it was even more fun than the year before.  Didn't think it was even possible, but gosh, it just keeps getting better and better.  She was so proud of our tree, showing everyone who entered the front door, amazed by lights, totally into our holiday baking and in love with Santa, but only from a safe safe distance ;)

This year we drove up to Alabama to spend Christmas with my parents, grandparents, cousin and her family and my brother and his girlfriend.  It was a house full which is pretty much the best for holidays.  We had so much fun just being together, hanging out, eating our weight in goodies and playing cards .

On Christmas Eve we always take our family pictures first in front of the Christmas tree.  I'm pretty sure Brynn only cared about food and presents because she was having no part in these posed pictures as evidenced by her stank eye and wild hair.

After pictures we always open all our presents.  We leave Christmas morning just for the children and their Santa presents.  Brynn opened her first present, a collection of "frozen" nail polishes and it was over.  "Mommy paint!" was on repeat and she could care less about seeing anything else that she got.  Eventually, after hiding the nail polishes she ripped through the rest of her presents....saying "more" after each one.  Eventually becoming more enthralled with paper ripping that what was actually inside.

After present opening we have a dinner of heavy horduerves.  We always serve the exact same ones every single year, and we always always look forward to it.

Ever since I was a child my mom always read The Night Before Christmas to us before we put out our cookies and milk and headed to bed.  We started this with Brynn last year.  I just love how she sat so still holding my hand in hers while I read it to her.  Be still my heart.

Christmas morning was all about Brynn and what she got from Santa.  He brought her some stocking stuffers, a baby doll, baby stroller, stuffed bubble puppy, coloring book and a potty.

It was the baby stroller that rocked her world.  Which led to hoarding all her peeps into there at once.
I just love it.

It was a very Merry Christmas indeed!
