Jolie- 4 Months

Four months...holy moly!  This little nugget of ours is pure joy.  We are definitely in a honeymoon period with this little baby.  One day we woke up and the colic had just disappeared and had us on pins and needles waiting for it to come back, but guess what! It didn't...and finally, FINALLLLYYYY this precious angel at four months finally stopped crying.  & the heavens parted and the sun shined down and the angels sang!!!! Really that's what it was like.

Little miss is the happiest thing on the planet these days and never never stops smiling.  Seriously just look in her direction and she will smile a smile as big as her whole face.  She is too precious for words.  She hardly ever cries...just fusses when she is hungry or starting to get tired but that is it.  I can't say it enough, it is glorious.  I definitely know this is a precious little time...where they are happy...way interactive...but aren't yet mobile.  ;)

Weight: home measurements 13.5 lbs
Height: 24 inches
( we had to postpone your appointment until the 30th so I am so so curious to see if you are still the tiniest of things or if you shot up in them growth charts :) )

Eat:  Little miss is still eating consistently every 3 to 4 hours, mostly 3 and 5 ounces.

Sleep: A week before four months I transitioned her to her crib.  Bath, lotion, jammies, eat...down at 7.  It took about four days but you now go down with minimal crying and wake around 4 or 5 for a feeding and go back down until around 7.

Play:  Jolie loves her little play mat now.  Loves to bat at all the toys hanging down in front of her.  She is also grabbing at everything so she loves to hold on to little toys and rattles and sophie the giraffe.  We put her in the bouncer for the first time this month and she loves it and can hang out in there sometimes for 20 minutes before she is over it and wants something new.

Milestones: On the day of her four month birthday she rolled over from back to tummy and now is doing in constantly and so proud of herself.  She also found her toes this month and loves to grab her feet when laying on her back.  One of the cutest milestones for sure. & laughs...oh you are just giggling from deep in that belly of yours.

Firsts: Sleeping in your crib.  Celebrated your first Halloween and Thanksgiving :)

Dearest Jolie,

You are such a little dream boat.  Just when I think you couldn't get any cuter, you somehow manage to do it!  I know I say it every month but, ugh that smile.  It takes up your whole little face and it just looks like you are smiling from the inside.  You really are the happiest baby I have ever seen, just full of the most joy.  People always ask if you are always smiling, and really, you always are.

You continue to bring so much happiness to this little family of ours.  You and your sister are getting closer with each day.  You really light up every time you see her and watch her so carefully following her all around the room.  Boy does she adore you also, I don't think there is any sweeter noise than hearing her use her baby voice to talk to you, calling you chubby monkey, Jolie Bean,  Jo Jo, sweet gurrrwl...(endless nicknames) and hearing you laugh the biggest belly laughs back.  I don't ever want to wish away time, but boy do I dream of the day you two can finally play together.

Thank you for bringing us endless amounts of happiness sweet girl. We love you something fierce.

Decking the Halls

We have been slowly adding all our holiday decor around the house and decking the halls.  The weekend after Thanksgiving Steve and Brynn decorated the outside of the house.

That Sunday we bought our Christmas tree and took a whole week before we were able to get around to decorating it! Haha...life has been so busy lately but we are embracing the craziness.  Brynn really enjoyed studying all the ornaments and decorating the whole tree completely at her eye level ;)

We also started doing an advent holiday bible study on December first.  It has been so amazing.  Each day we open an envelope and read the clue.  I then read a corresponding bible story and Brynn listens for the clue and points out when she hears it.  Each story has an ornament craft that goes with it.  We put each of them on the little mini tree in her room.  I have loved doing this with her and remain more and more in awe each day with how much she is taking in and learning about the Christmas story.  It warms my heart in so many ways.

And finally, there is definitely not a shortage of Christmas outfits in this house :)

I just love dressing these little bunnies up!

North Pole Breakfast

This is our first year with our elf!  I wanted to do the elf last year but I thought that Brynn was still a little bit young for it and the whole concept.  So...THIS was the year and I was so excited!

Our elf arrived the day after Thanksgiving with a fancy North Pole Breakfast.  Brynn woke up that morning and when she walked out of her room into the kitchen I turned the lights on and we were all surprised to see a fancy breakfast for her.  She originally thought that this was sent from Santa.  While she was eating and enjoying her breakfast, there was a knock at the front door.  We ran to see who it was and when we opened the door there was a package on the front porch addressed to Brynn from the North Pole.  ( we had kept it in the freezer over night so it was extra cold)  She was very excited to open it and discover that Santa had sent us our very own elf.

We quickly went to the couch to read the story and name our elf.  Brynn chose the name Puffy.  Not sure where in the world that came from but I find it quite cute.  I guess cause it is the first time she has thought and named something all by herself.

So far Puffy has been up to quite a bit of mischief...

and we have been having a lot of fun with this new little holiday tradition.

Thanksgiving

We had another wonderful Thanksgiving for the books.
We woke up and continued our tradition of cinnamon turkey rolls, to which Brynn looked only slightly more impressed than last year ;)

We spent the morning on the couch watching the parade and sipping our coffee from our holiday mugs.  Brynn entertained us by copying all the dancing from the tv.   Such a little performer.

I got the girls all dressed up in these adorable matching Gobble outfits that I scooped up months ago when I saw they came in both girls sizes.  I couldn't get enough of how adorable they both looked.  Definitely more pictures of Jolie than Brynn this year...could be because she is a lot more cooperative and all I gotta do it look at this girl and she is all smiles.  Brynn on the other hand is hard to keep up with these days!

We drank wine and cooked the day away, even Brynn got in on the helping.

Dinner was delicious as usual.  Brynn made sure that even the dogs got a little Thanksgiving too.

It was so fun to see how excited she was about the day, telling everyone Happy Thanksgiving and screaming "Your feast is readyyyyyyy!"  She even announced the blessing for everyone all by herself and told us that pilgrims and Indians ate their feast together after they sailed to America on the Mayflower.  (Thanks Charlie Brown Thanksgiving ;) )  She is too much!

So thankful for this wonderful family of mine that God has blessed me with.  And thankful that we got to share it this year with our newest little family member who totally completes us.

Jolie - 3 months

Wee-Month Three!

Time just keeps on keepin' on and our little Jolie is three months old.  Gosh, I don't think I could be more in love with her!  She is the absolute sweetest little soul!  We just had our three month checkup and all is well with Jo.  Thank you Jesus!  She is definitely.. so far a little peanut, only in the 6th percentile...which is looking like she is taking after her tiny mama in that department.

We had a really rough month with tummy troubles, still.  We ruled out the milk allergy since the allergy milk did not help.  They put her on zantac for acid reflux which was their next guess...and that seemed to help for like two, three weeks.  Then...the crying came back.  The full on screaming for hours on hours on hours. Every. Single. Day.  I could not console her or put her down and I felt just awful for her and her pain...and at the same time found myself losing it in a major way.  After researching and researching helplessly I read about baby probiotics and how they help with colic, gas and constipation.  We went out and bought them the next day and my God she is a completely different baby!  No crying at all in a week!  Smiling and laughing all day long.  It's amazing!  As sad as I am that it took this long to get her to be a happy baby, I am just happy that all is well now.

Baby Stats:
weight:
Birth 7lbs 5 oz
3 months: 13 lbs

height:
birth: 18inches
3 months: 22 inches

Eyes:
Still a light blue/grey

Hair: light brown, new hair growth looks even lighter like a sandy blondish.

Eating:
After switching off the milk protein allergy formula we are now on Honest Company's organic formula and eating 5 oz every 3 to 4 hours.

Sleep: Now that tummy troubles are gone...napping has started and its glorious.  Jolie takes about three naps a day and passes out for the night around 8-9.  She is sleeping 7 hour stretches and a few 8 hour ones...usually waking between 4 and 5 and then going back down until between 6:30 and 7.
I started putting Brynn in her crib at 3 months but for some reason I still am just not quite ready for her to leave my room just yet.

Firsts: Meeting your great-grandparents, Honey and Pops.
First walks in the stroller with sissy.

Milestones: Cooing.  Making the sweetest little sounds all day long.
Just started reaching out to bat toys hanging from your play mat.
Giggles! Oh the giggles.  Your giggles are like this little raspy cough and I could just eat them up.

Favorites:  Bath time, lotion massages.

Hates: Carseat...still.  Being left alone with no one in sight for too long.

Dearest Jolie,

I cannot believe you are three months.  Gone is your teeny tiny little newborn self, you are looking more like a baby with each passing day.  Those little cheeks and thighs are filling out...and that double chin when you smile so hard...ugh. I just love everything about you.  You are perfectly perfect!

You are so much more alert these days.  You are constantly looking for someone and wanting any and all attention.  You, little miss..are most certainly a ham.  Smiling is your favorite.  You do it all day long...all anyone has to do is just look at you and oh. the. smiles!  You smile with your whole entire face and gosh, its my favorite.  Such a little dream boat you are.

You love to be held, cuddled and rocked.  Some of my most favorite times are with you in the rocking chair and your sister sitting in your crib, her and I singing disney princess songs to you while you drift off to sleep.  Its in those times that I sit back and think wow, this is some life I have.

We love you to the moon & back our little Jo Jo Bean.

Weekend recap

Friday
Was a pretty uneventful day.

We watched my moms dog all week while she was out of town and Brynn had a great time with him swimming, giving him checkups, having tea parties and naps among many other shenanigans together.

Saturday
We woke up and dropped Jolie off at my moms so that we could take Brynn to the Home Depot little builders.  We have been doing this since August and she seems to really enjoy it.  It is outdoors so we leave Jolie at home since it is STILL 90 degrees! ugh.  This weekend they made a jet for Veterans day.

That night was all about the Bama LSU game and we were pumped!  We decided to make it a cheat night...both kids in bed...pizza, wings, beer and football.  I guess you could say it was our date night cause thats about as eventful as it gets these days ;)

It was a big WIN for Bama!  LS-Whoooo?  Roll Tide!

Sunday
Jolie slept from 8:30 to 6 for the second time this week which had me singing all kinds of praises this morning.  Im really hoping this becomes more frequent.  But probably not now that I typed it out.  We spent the morning still celebrating.

And lots of Sunday cleaning.

We watched the Dolphins game during nap time while some beef stew cooked in the crockpot and filled the house with all kinds of fall cozy smells.  Now if only the weather would cooperate!
