Month 12

Dearest Brynn,

It seems like just yesterday you came into my life and changed it forever...in ways I never dreamed possible.  I still remember it like it was yesterday, Friday, April 26th 2013.  It was a sunny and beautiful day.  I had barely slept a wink...so filled with excitement and anticipation.  Family was in town and everyone was so anxious to meet your beautiful little self.
The second I heard your cry was I was flooded with happiness and overwhelmed with the sense that I was a mom.  You had my heart in that very moment.  & I loved you instantly with every ounce of my being.  A love I never dreamed possible.  A love that is greater than any feeling in this whole world.
Indescribable.
The following weeks are a blur...thats what happens when you are sleep deprived.  They were spent with lots of cuddles and lots of learning just how to be a parent, really.  Learning how to change diapers, swaddle, breast feed, bathe you...learning your cries and what you wanted & how to survive on mere hours of sleep.  But mostly those days were filled with complete and overwhelming love, grace & thankfulness.  Our hearts were full.
This has surely been the hardest year of my life, but undoubtedly it has been the most amazing and fulfilling year of my life.  Rewarding in ways that make my heart want to explode.  Making me feel loved, adored & accomplished.  Daddy & I decided that it was best for me to stay home with you instead of going back to work & it was the best decision we have ever made.  It has not been easy and we have definitely sacrificed in so many ways to make it possible. But, every day that I am able to wake up to your smiling face, rock you to sleep, cuddle, play til' bedtime makes me realize that this is what it is all about.  I treasure all these moments & thank God daily because we are certainly blessed.
You have changed me in the best ways. Showing me everyday what is really important in life.  Showing me the joy & simplicity in life. Living life through your eyes and your joy has made me realize material things are not what matter in this life, family & love can bring you all the happiness you could ever dream of.
You have a family that loves you so so much.  There isn't a thing in the world they would not do for you baby girl.  It is the best thing in the world to see the people I love, the people that raised me, have so much love for you.  I can't wait to watch your relationship with all of them continue to grow.
This first year has been unbeliveable.  We have experienced so much.  Your first time at the pool, road trip, beach, pumpkin patch, swinging, teething, first foods...holidays & the list goes on & on.
I wont lie that I have been a sobbering & blubbering mess over the thought of you embarking on toddlerhood & leaving behind the days of infancy, however I know there is so much more to come.  God has blessed you with so much personality, talents & gifts.  I cannot wait to watch your life unfold & see all the greatness that he has in store for you.

You are our world Brynn Caroline.
& you most certainly will ALWAYS be my baby.

We love you to the moon & back.
Mommy & Daddy.

Easter Recap

Easter was such a beautiful & fun day.  I would have to say this was the first holiday where Brynn actually noticed what was going on & where we were truly able to see the excitement in her face.  It was so precious and left Steve and I at the end of the night saying this was our best Easter yet!

Saturday night we went to Easter service at our church.  That is always quite nerve wrecking, hoping your child can make it through without a meltdown but it was nothing a few snacks couldn't help.

Sunday morning I found myself awake at 8am waiting an hour, staring at the monitor and twiddling my thumbs waiting for little miss to wake up and come see what the Easter bunny left for her.  Around 9 oclock when she finally decided to wake up we busted in her room with the video camera, singing all kinds of bunny songs and some other crazy shennanigans that left her in quite the shock!

I left her basket right in the middle of the floor and she noticed it immediately, went right to it and started pulling everything out.  Favorite thing - hands down being her new sunnies.

Afterwards we enjoyed a nice quiet breakfast the three of us & went for a nice walk.

After nap we headed over to grammie and papa's.

Brynn had her first egg hunt.  I would say it was semi successful.  Maybe I made the mistake of putting snacks in every single egg because all she wanted to do was crack one egg at a time, plop down eat all the snack and then go on to the next one.  I quickly gathered up half those eggs or else we would have been there all night.

We had a nice dinner and enjoyed everyones company.  My mom did a wonderful job & it was such a beautiful beautiful day celebrating our savior and his ressurection.  I want to make sure I always remember to thank God for this amazing amazing life he has blessed us with.  I'm not sure it gets any sweeter than this.

Happy Easter Weekend!

Another holiday is upon us this weekend and we can not be more excited over here!
We have been carrying around eggs in a basket and learning how to crack them open for a good month now preparing our A-game for easter egg hunting!

As with all other holidays I love finding ways to make it extra special for my mini.  Thank goodness for pinterest :)
Today we had an easter egg lunch.  I prepared 6 little mini snacks and put them inside the eggs and had them waiting on Brynn's highchair for when she woke up from her nap.  She immediately started craking eggs open and eating the snacks.  (I told you, we have been practicing our A-game!)  She was so darn cute and into it.  I especially loved how she would only crack and eat one egg at a time before even deciding to touch another.

The last egg was filled with a bunny marshmallow peep & dont you know that was the cherry on top.  Ya'll that peep was gone before I could snap three pictures.  Homegirl knows what up!

We topped tonight off with an egg bath.  Some pink water and 100 plastic eggs for the win!  Brynn had the bath of her life tonight.

I seriously can't get enough of holiday festivities.
Happy Easter to all xoxo

This Weekend

This weekend was full of family time and baby firsts. We went to a family event at Steve's fire station where the firefighters compete against other stations in different games.  Brynn had a good ole' time clapping and cheering all the firefighters on and just taking it all in.

Afterwards there was a big bbq with tons of yummy food.  Brynn enjoyed her first snow cone.  Cutest darned thing.

Lately with all this lack of rain around these parts we have been having to water the yard in the evenings.  Brynn has taken quite the interest in the sprinkler so we decided to give her a go at it.
We turned it on real low since this girl hates water in the face and she could not get enough of it.

She probably played in there for a good thirty minutes.  I hope she always loves the outdoors and finds joys in the simple things in life.  It is so heart filling.

Month 11

Dearest Brynn,

I cannot fathom one little bit that in one more month you will be a whole year old! Where did the time go??

Tomorrow are your one year pictures and birthday planning is in full swing over here.  I always said I wouldn't be one of those moms who threw an over the top first birthday, but needless to say here we are planning a full on extravaganza.  What can I say, you are our princess.  How could we not?!?!

Let's talk about all that is new within the past month.  At the top of the list is you started walking!  At exactly 10 months 6 days you decided take steps between Gena and myself.  About a week after that you decided one day to really take off and you haven't crawled since.  Everyone always says "oh you're really in trouble now!"  But I gotta say, I love it.  Even though getting you to stay still is quite the task..and these monthly pictures are a huge ordeal now, which leads to me throwing snacks at you in hopes that I can get some pictures of you sitting.  But still nothing is cuter to me than watching you teeder todder around this house.  And you are oh so proud of your self.

You are understanding more commands now.  You wave hi and bye on command and always at the right times.  You wave to everyone when we are out and about.  You just learned to blow kisses this month as well.  You wont always do it, and you don't always exactly hit your lips...sometimes the ear... haha but we know what you mean ;)  You are shaking your head no when you don't want something, which is really very funny to us right now.  "Brynn ready for nite nite?"  Follwed by the head shake.
You also love love to "do nice" which is hugging and laying your head ever so sweetly on us or the dog...or your stuffed animals or babies.  I just absolutely melt when you play and just get up and run over to me and put your arms across my lap and lay your head on me and look up with that sweet smile.  You are the best.

Your top two teeth finally came down, so now when you smile..like really smile we can see all four of those little teeth and its hilarious.  Like a little bunny.  Speaking of laughing and smiling..you think you are so funny.  Always laughing at yourself..and laughing when others laugh.  You just have the funniest personality.  Can't wait to see what the month brings my love.

Your daddy and I love you more than you will ever know.
To the moon and back.
xoxo
